Green Artificial Christmas Tree: Decorate Your Tree Like a Pro in Three Easy Steps

One of our favorite times of the year is Christmas catching glimpses of other people’s festive trees and living room windows decked with garlands and lights. The truth is decorating your green artificial Christmas trees is a time-honoured tradition in most households.

Suppose you want to express your style, heritage, surroundings, and personality. In that case, the options are limitless as your trees are layered with tradition, ornaments, and memories. So, if you are unsure how to decorate your tree this year, we will help you dress your faux tree like a pro in some simple steps.

First Step: Hang The Christmas Tree Lights

The first step is adding your lights to your green artificial Christmas trees. You can find them in white strands, green, or black. Choose a strand that suits your tree color theme to hide the wire in the tree making those lights stand out.

Start at the base wrapping the lights around the trunk. Next, work around every major branch. Then, move from the trunk working to the tip and then back. It also helps to fluff the branches while working around the tree.

Second Step: Add Your Garland

There are no rules for draping garlands. Start at the top of your tree. Then gradually increase the strands between each wave working down the branches. Doing this helps prevent pinching the strands.

We recommend using two strands of your garland for a vertical foot of your green artificial Christmas tree. To prevent a busy look, you can decorate your faux tree with different plain to fancy garlands. These can include beaded garlands you can hang from branch to branch. You can use ribbon, foil, or thick paper garlands hung loosely around the tree.

Third Step: Hang Your Ornaments

We recommend showcasing your favorite decorations on the tree first. Then dangle larger ones around your tree. Finally, hang your larger ornaments at the bottom with smaller ones.  Then, fill around with medium to small-sized decorations by dangling them close to the trunk to create interest and depth. It will then reflect the light making your tree sparkle. Lastly, finish the look with a tree topper with a tree skirt.

Now you can stand back and admire your handy work from different angles. Make sure to squint those eyes to check if you have any empty areas on your green artificial Christmas tree to fill.
